“Sappiate che quando si cavalca per questo deserto di notte, se a qualcuno succede, per colpa del sonno o per qualche altra ragione, di restare indietro […] ode allora parlare spiriti come se fossero suoi compagni [...]. Si aggiunga che tali voci di spiriti si sentono anche di giorno: vi sembra molte volte di udire il suono di molti strumenti e specialmente quel del tamburo.”
